A simpler way to make local calls from home, Home Local Calling offers optional calling plans that provide residential customers several options to best meet their local LATA* calling needs by reducing or eliminating charges for the calls.
*LATAs (or Local Access Transport Areas) are long distance calling zones within which the local telephone company provides local services. Moncks Corner Area customers' local LATA is the Coastal Calling Zone and Harleyville customers' local LATA is the Midlands Calling Zone.
Subscribers to Home Local Calling are no longer required to dial the 1 and the Area Code, only the seven-digit telephone number. If they dial the 1 + the Area Code, their call will be charged at the standard Home Telephone long distance rate or the rate of their long distance carrier of choice.
Calls resulting in a fractional rate are rounded down to the nearest whole cent. Each line is considered a separate service and requires a separate option. Therefore, residences with multiple lines must subscribe to an option for each line. Discounts apply to direct dialed calls only. There is no charge to add any Home Local Calling option to your service.
